What Can I expect at Continental?
Sunday School
Bible teaching on an age-appropriate level is offered each Sunday morning at 9:30am. After an opening prayer, children and adults separate to their various classes to hear the Bible taught. The adult Bible classes allow for feedback and discussion among the participants.
New Fall 2010: Ambassadors (Ages 5-12)
Adventure is just around the corner as we learn about God’s great ambassadors – His representatives around the world. We’ll hear of great missionaries like Hudson Taylor and Amy Carmichael. And learn how we, too, can represent God right where we are.
Of course, representing God correctly means modeling godly attitudes and character traits. So we’ll focus on one character trait each month, learning from Bible accounts and examples in the world around us. Theme-related songs and Scripture will help us remember and put into practice the character traits we’re exploring. Are you ready for some character training?
Sunday Morning Worship
The worship service includes the singing of selected hymns, Scripture reading, an offering, prayer time, and preaching. At times, vocal groups or soloists also sing for the congregation’s enjoyment. Our worship climaxes with the preaching of a Bible sermon aimed at explaining and carefully applying it to everyday life.
Sunday Teaching Service
The evening service on Sunday is less formal than the morning worship but it also includes time for corporate singing. Occasionally, testimonies are shared by the members. The message in this service is geared primarily to Christians to help them in their personal growth and discipleship.
Wednesday Prayer Service
In the middle of the week, we meet for approximately one hour for prayer and Bible study. A prayer sheet is distributed and every need is prayed for specifically. Pastor also shares a brief devotional thought from God’s Word to encourage God’s people.
Children’s Church
During the worship service on Sunday morning, age-appropriate worship is available to children in grades six and below. Children’s church is on a rotation to trek through the Bible in three years. See the write up below for more information.
New Fall 2010: Bible Trekkers
Exploring the Bible beginning to end
Come journey through the most influential book of all time. We’ll trek through the Bible from beginning to end as we explore the exciting Bible accounts. We’ll discover truths about God, us, and life. You won’t want to miss this life-changing, 3-year expedition.
Nursery
Competent, caring staff provides childcare for children 3 and under in each service.
Opportunities
Since we are a new and growing church, we are excited about the opportunities around the corner as we add new ministries. Our philosophy is to grow people through ministry, not to grow the ministry through the people. We want each person to have the opportunity to serve on our team. With your help, we believe the brightest days are ahead for Continental.<–>
